RAVAGO HELLAS – LAVRION PS PLANT

situated in Lavrion and owned by Ravago Hellas this factory has a rich history spanning over 60 years.

Established in 1960 by the renowned American multinational chemical corporation, Dow, it transitioned to the ownership of the Ravago Group in December 2018. Throughout its existence, the plant has undergone numerous upgrades, consistently positioning itself as a pioneering entity within the Greek industrial landscape. Its primary focus has always been on Safety, Environmental Protection, and Quality, achieving notable outcomes in these areas. Simultaneously, it has maintained exceptional levels of productivity and remained abreast of the latest Technological
advancements.

Central to its operations is a pier facilitating the berthing of vessels carrying up to 3,000MT of styrene monomer, the main raw material utilized in the manufacturing process. Additionally, the plant collaborates with various external entities for specialized raw material sourcing, transportation services, and insurance requirements. With a production capacity of 33,000MT of polystyrene, the plant caters to the domestic Greek market while actively engaging in export activities, marketing polystyrene polymers under the brands "Styron" and "Certene". Recently, the plant achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing a major project to modernize its process automation systems, further solidifying its position as an industry leader. Employing over 45 individuals, the Lavrion site encompasses all essential departments crucial for its seamless operation, including production, maintenance, lab/quality, site logistics, and procurement. Its commitment to maintaining high standards in quality, environmental stewardship, safety, and energy management.
